The electrostatic force: symmetry and the charge
The force between two charged point bodies at rest is investigated. Using the symmetries of the problem, the form of this force is simplified. Adding the assumption of the conservation of flux, determination of the dependence of the force on the positions of the bodies is completed. Finally, the relation of this force with the parameters of the bodies in studied: The definition of the electric charge is presented and the form of the electrostatic force is obtained.
